Apple would reset iCloud backups ahead of iOS 5 gold

On its developer boards, Apple warned about an imminent reset of iCloud backup data in what is probably a clue to the final release of iOS 5. Developers who would use iCloud during the beta version would not be able to back up or restore for a whole day, from 9AM to 5PM. No backup previous to the reset would work and a fresh backup would be needed

Potential partners on Facebook’s music service: Deezer, Soundcloud, Rhapsody and Vevo

The imminent music service announced on Facebook could include more actors than initially thought. The only partners previously identified as being part of the service were Rdio, MOG and Spotify, but others could also join the group: Rhapsody, Soundcloud, Vevo and Deezer

As promised, Google and Motorola have pushed out the new Android 3.1 to Motorola’s Xoom. The operating system has been only superficially intended to bring new features, but now it is said to be significantly faster. As CrunchGear showed after an early check, the operating system allows applications to load faster, transitions are faster, while the browser finally has the responsiveness level of the iPad, which has never been reached by Android before

Microsoft deal to include Qik after Skype

GeekWire has affirmed that the streaming mobile video company Qik would be included in Microsoft’s deal to buy Skype. Qik would be part of the $8.5 billion deal, after being acquired by Skype in January, for $121 million. The company was not discussed within initial plans but was likely to be included in the agreement
