I was excited as the next Star Wars fan to get a sneak peek this week of the new “The Dog Strikes Back” Volkswagen ad that’s set to debut at the Super Bowl. Like the big hit of last year, “The Force,” a clever ad that featured a Darth Vader-dressed kid frustrated when his Dark Side powers don’t work (until Dad makes his day by starting up the family’s VW Passat with his remote), I was thrilled to see how my beloved Star Wars franchise might be subtly referenced this year

If you’re in Indianapolis for the weekend’s big game, stop by the JW Marriott. There you can find a replica of Lucas Oil Stadium, where the Super Bowl is being held. The model, created by Brian Alano of Bloomington, Indiana, has more than 30,000 bricks and took more than three years to build.

We all thought it was pretty cool last week when two Canadian teens managed to launch a Lego minifig into space (well, very high altitude, anyway). A key advantage to owning an Android phone with a 720p display is that you can watch content in true high-definition. The 1280 x 720 screen on my Galaxy Nexus is what I call “an HDTV in my pocket.” And I’ve been renting high-def videos from the Android Market, simply because they’re stunning to look at. But there’s a huge problem: After watching the rentals, the massive media files aren’t disappearing from my phone.
